My first time in France, ever!!! I could not have been more excited before going and now that I’ve gone to Paris, I LOVE it! Here’s my rapid recap for Paris…
My first full day, I went to Disneyland with my friend. Was it absolutely amazing? Yes. Was it worth the time and money? No. I’ve been a HUGE Disney fan since I was super young and I am obsessed with the Disney parks in Florida and Cali so going to Disneyland in Paris was a dream come true and I definitely do not regret going. BUT, it was not worth paying over 50 euros for one park (there are 2) and over 10 euros for a hotdog, especially since compared to the Disney World in Florida, Disneyland Paris seemed more like an average amusement park. No hate though! Just a piece of advice: if you are a broke college student going to Paris for one weekend (@ me!), don’t spend a day at Disney Land.
The second day, I spend the entire time in Paris and let me just say: Paris. Is. Beautiful.
I have been to almost every country in Western Europe throughout my life now (thanks mom+dad) but for some reason I had never made it to France before this trip. Everyone always raves about Paris and now I finally get it! The food is delicious, the streets are incredibly clean, the architecture is amazing, and if you’re looking for that stereotypical European vibe, Paris is the place to be!
I went to the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Luxembourg Gardens, Notre Dame Cathedral, Arc de Triomphe, and scootered down Champs Élysées (cue the song). I probably forgot to mention some other sites I saw, but overall Paris is just so beautiful. Even the Abercrombie store looked like an art museum, which made me salty because I used to work at Abercrombie in NYC and let me tell you, it was nothing like the one in Paris with the huge golden gates, a rock garden, and doors triple my height with golden decor!
My favorite place has to be the Eiffel Tower… Yes, it is the most touristy place, but it is for a reason. At sunset, it was probably one of the prettiest things I have ever seen and there is just something about the Eiffel Tower that makes you stare in awe.
So, now that I’ve given you my recap, a couple tips I have for anyone going to Paris would be…
- Don’t go to Disney Land unless you have a lot of time and are willing to drop a lot of cash!
- Look into electric scootering. There’s an electric scooter on every street corner at your disposal, and it’s cheap to ride so you can see the streets while going from one place to another.
- Try the food! Everything I ate was absolutely incredible and spending a bit extra for a nice dinner was 100% worth it.
- GO TO THE EIFFEL TOWER AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH HOUR WHEN YOU GO AT NIGHT!!!! We made the mistake of getting to the tower at 8:05 pm so we JUST missed the “light show” where the tower sparkles in pretty lights. They only do that for 5 minutes at the top of each hour, then the tower is illuminated for 15ish minutes in a pretty yellow hue, then it goes dark for the rest of that hour. Luckily, we got to see the tower during sunset and with the yellow light, but it would have been amazing to see the sparkling.
And that’s all for Paris! Check out my video I made for my trip :)…
